Small lobed flowers bloom in turn on each terminal spike, extending bloom time throughout the summer. A member of the mint family, Purple Giant Hyssop has square stems and fragrant leaves, offering some deer resistance. Grows best in moist soil or wet conditions, in rich or sandy soils, in dapled shade, thickets and meadows. Does not tolerate hot dry conditions. It’s 6 foot height makes it a good choice for a back border. Seeds readily propagate and plugs easily transplant.
