Bottle Gentian are slow-growing but long-lived perennials with dark blue, bottle-like cylindrical flowers that look like buds about to open. Flowers bloom late summer until frost. The unusual blooms are pollinated by bumblebees, which have the size and strength needed to pry open the closed flowers.
