Agastache nepetoides
Yellow Giant Hyssop
Tall native perennial with greenish-yellow whorls of flowers that are attractive to bees and butterflies.
Description:
This sturdy and hardy perennial grows quite tall and blooms from mid-summer to early fall. The greenish-yellow flowers are not showy, however, they are attractive to bees and other pollinators. The leaves are large and triangular, contributing a lush and interesting vegetative backdrop to other nearby flowers in the garden. Yellow Giant Hyssop grows quickly in well-drained soils in either sun or partial shade. Planted in mass, this flowering perennial makes an excellent addition to the native flower garden, as a backdrop along borders, and as a companion to milkweed in meadows.
Wildlife Value: Attractive to bees, butterflies and other beneficial insects.
