Rutgers Master Gardeners are trained volunteers (men and women) who assist Rutgers New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station Cooperative Extension in its mission to deliver horticulture programs and information to the general public. After receiving in-depth training, Master Gardeners work as volunteers in a variety of areas, including gardening demonstrations, helplines and plant clinics, community and youth gardening projects, gardening donations to local food banks, and research assistance to Rutgers University. Anyone with an interest in gardening and a commitment to volunteer service can become a Rutgers Master Gardener.
