Eastern White Pine is a large, long-needled evergreen conifer, taller than it is wide. Bundles of five needles are soft to the touch and appear bluish-green. Eastern White Pine will start producing cones in 5-10 years. The cones are long and covered with dried white sap resembling snow, offering decorative value to holiday wreaths. It takes several years for Eastern White Pine to establish, then it grows quickly. Eastern White Pine is long-lived. It provides shelter and roosting space for birds.
